History
Until as late as 1890, few people even knew about the Slocan Valley except for the Sinixt First Nation. The discovery of silver/lead ore changed everything, making for a dramatic and interesting history in the Valley.
Culture
Known for its diversity and acceptance of people who may not fit into a "box", the Slocan Valley has a rich legacy. Artists, makers, musicians and back-to-the-landers have all woven a colourful community fabric.
