Business owners in the Slocan Valley are a resilie

Business owners in the Slocan Valley are a resilient bunch. This summer, five massive wildfires swept through the Slocan Valley, forcing evacuations in the villages of Slocan and Silverton and surrounding areas, halting tourism, and closing Highway 6—the lifeline through the region. 🔥

Impacts were felt by both residents and businesses alike. From businesses grappling with closures to locals banding together to feed fire crews and helping evacuees, the Valley witnessed both profound challenges and inspiring resilience.

❤️ In the midst of the crisis, the community stepped up—opening homes, helping neighbors move animals and belongings and rallying behind local businesses.

As we move forward, help us support the Valley’s recovery by shopping local, dining local and supporting local. And let’s celebrate the resilience of this beautiful region and its amazing inhabitants. #SupportSlocanValley

This promotion is to help you stretch your dollars while supporting our local storefront businesses. It’s been a tough few months for our community, and our local businesses need us now more than ever.

We realize the whole valley was affected by this summer’s wildfires ❤️️, however we need to focus on those areas that were impacted the most by evacuation orders and highway closures.

All retailers will get reimbursed for the $5 voucher so it's a win-win for businesses and residents alike. The coupon is valid until December 31, 2024 so you can use it for your holiday shopping!

This is our second promotion this month. On October 17, residents from Winlaw to New Denver received a voucher for a FREE coffee in that edition of The Valley Voice newspaper that’s valid until November 30, 3024. The businesses get reimbursed for that promotion as well.
