Slocan Lake Arts Council

Detailed Information

The Slocan Lake Arts Council manages the Silverton Gallery, an iconic, heritage building consisting of a Theatre, a Visual Arts Gallery, and a Makers Workshop. The Society along with community collaborators present events….and/or the space can be rented for independent shows.

The Makers Workshop is used by crafters, artists, painters, hobbyists who need ongoing space to work. The Makers Worksop can be used on an ongoing basis for a membership fee of $75.00 a month.

The Visual Arts Gallery hosts up to 4 curated shows a year and is also available for private rental.

The Performance Theatre, with a capacity of 100 people, is known for it’s acoustics and professional lights.

The Arts Council administers local CKCA grants, as well as mentors local artists via administrative support, promotions, bookings, and presentations.

Gratitude goes to the BC Arts Council, CBT, RDCK, KSCU, and the Village of Silverton as well as to our numerous community supporters and volunteers. Without this support we would not be able to do what we love to do, and that’s to “make space for arts & culture to thrive”.

After 4 years of having the Silverton Gallery closed, due to code deficiencies, the building is again open for business.
